Restaurant owner Faheem Vanoo and his wife Shilpa Dandekar said they were left “shaken” after the collision with the ITV star’s Mini in Richmond yesterday.
Their four-year-old daughter Amaira was taken to hospital following the crash, although her father revealed that she had escaped with no serious injuries.
“The whole experience has just been a nightmare,” he said.
“It is not something that we ever expected, but we are just grateful that no one was hurt.
“It has been a terrible experience and it feels like we are coming out of a nightmare,” he told the Daily Mail. “It has left us all a bit shaken up.”
Faheem said that Amaira had not been kept in hospital overnight, explaining that she was “shocked and dazed” but unharmed by the crash.
He revealed that police had asked him not to talk about the accident, after which Britain’s Got Talent host Ant, 42, was arrested having failed a roadside breathalyser test.
“I cannot talk about certain things, but the main thing is that we are all safe,” he said. “My daughter and wife are okay and were not injured.”
He previously spent two months in a treatment facility for prescription drug and alcohol addiction last summer.
In a statement, his publicist told Express.co.uk that he was pulling out of all upcoming TV work.
“Ant has decided to go back to treatment and step down from his current TV commitments,” the statement read. “He has spoken with Dec [Donnelly] and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.
